Our collections feature 100% FSC certified upcycled teak wood, originally gathered from old growth forests across the Indonesian archipelago. Our assembly model value chain manufacturing process is focused around recycled teak, new teak as well as aluminum and other mixed material patio furniture. Indonesia once contained some of the world’s richest teak forests. Locals sold this timber to European traders and milled the remnants to build traditional structures. Inside these old growth forests, the ancient teak trees spent up to eighty years growing in dappled light under the jungle canopy, promoting the slow ring growth fundamental to teak’s unique and formidable weather, salt, sun, and insect resistant characteristics. Original teak like this is extremely rare now days – unless you know where to look.

As the current generation in Indonesia trends towards constructing new homes built with modern Western materials and selling off the old traditional teak buildings of joglos, limasans and gladaks as well as bridges, railways and factory buildings, they become available for upcycling. So, we’ve spent over a decade lovingly acquiring and stockpiling this heirloom timber to realise our vision of delivering the finest quality reclaimed teak outdoor furniture.
